This November, luxury sneaker brand Mercer Amsterdam debuts a sneaker made from Italian wine in its upcoming Spring Summer '21 collection.

In collaboration with the Italian company, Vegea, the brand created the first ever high-end sneaker made from the Italian plant-based material dubbed, the W3RD Wine Pack. Not only are these sneakers chic and fun, but they promote a more sustainable future in fashion.

The main ingredients of wine leather are waste products of Italian wine production. Through a development from Vegea, the grapes are processed via a process that forms the basis of the sneaker material. Wine leather is soft, smooth, stable, 100% sustainable and can be recycled.

It almost feels like leather, and can be processed adequately.

Wine leather is also 100% vegan, no animals are harmed and no animal products are used during the production process. Additionally the W3RD Wine pack features mesh made from recycled PET bottles and an EVA sole that is made with Algae.
