New York, NY, March 2, 2018This spring, the French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF), New York’s premiere French cultural center, presents a brand-new season of its signature wine tasting series, Wine Tour de France.

Hosted by industry experts, this new masterclass series of tastings will explore what makes French wines some of the best in the world. New Yorkers are invited to taste some of France’s most prestigious wines and get an insider’s perspective on some of France’s most unforgettable flavors.

Each of the four evenings will feature a distinct—and playful—theme. Special guest presenters will lead each tasting of fine French wines paired with cheese, charcuterie, and artisanal bread.

Florence Fabricant: Wine & Cheese Radical Pairings

Wednesday, March 7 at 7pm

Florence Fabricant, nationally renowned New York Times food reporter, takes you on an unusual pairing journey of French white wines and cheeses. Discover how to be an expert matchmaker in your own right.

White Wine & Cheese Pairings

·         Domaine de la Renaudie – Touraine Sauvignon  Blanc 2016 + Goat Cheese

·         Antonin Rodet – Mâcon Villages 2015 + Coulommiers

·         Crémant d’Alsace Willm Blanc de Noirs + Brillat-Savarin

·         Alsace Willm Riesling 2016 + Epoisse

·         Château de Montcontour – Vouvray demi-sec 2016 + Fourme d’Ambert

And just for fun, we are adding an exceptional red wine, Domaine Dominique Piron – Beaujolais Villages 2016, paired with Comté.

These delectable pairings of fine wine and cheese will be accompanied by a selection of artisanal bread from French boulangerie Maison Kayser.

Wednesday, May 16 at 7pm

Game-changing celebrity chef Paul Bocuse dedicated his life to sharing the flavors of the Rhône Valley worldwide. Taste eight of the region’s most renowned wines and learn what makes them unique with Millesima wine.


The Rosé Renaissance

Wednesday, June 13 at 7pm

Always a summertime favorite, in recent years, rosé wines have become increasingly popular. Learn what makes French rosés the best in the world and how to choose the perfect bottle for any occasion.
